WAYN confirmed UK’s most popular community website 2010 in online poll

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Hello all,

A quick update from me, back at WAYN HQ in London after a short stint at our new base in New York. We’re very glad to announce that WAYN has once again been honoured as the UK’s most popular community website for 2010!

The accolade follows our previous website of the year wins in 2007 and 2008, and is testament not only to the tireless efforts of all of us at WAYN in London, Szczecin and New York, but to the loyalty of our 15.7 million members. In fact, it confirms that the WAYN brand is as strong and popular as ever. Other winners included Paypal in the ‘Finance’ category, Unicef in the ‘Charities’ category and Google UK in the ‘Search & find’ category.

London to NYC

If you have been following us at this blog, then you know that it has been exciting times for WAYN recently. When we were in NYC, Jerome and I took part in a New York City Economic Development Corporation sponsored programme designed to showcase entrepreneurial talent in London- WAYN was part of an exclusive group of only 10 UK start-up companies in a ‘London to NYC’ delegation. The initiative has received some impressive coverage in the broadsheets here in the UK, including The Observer and the Telegraph newspapers. So it is clearly shaping up to be an exciting end of the year for us, which certainly bodes well for the New Year. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of our invaluable members spread across the globe – so a big thank you to you all!

There’s even more to come from us in 2011, so stay tuned and Happy Holidays to everyone!
